What is Claude Motion, and where can I try it?
Claude Motion is a beta feature inside Claude that Anthropic announced on 8 October 2026. It makes short, code-built animations from a prompt, documents, data or images and exports them as MP4. You use it at claude.ai on a Team or Enterprise plan: choose Output, then Motion, in a chat, or pick a Motion template in Artifacts. Without that plan, Opus 5.5 Video is an independent alternative that makes similar motion graphics in the browser.
Is Opus 5.5 Video Anthropic's Claude Motion?
No. Opus 5.5 Video is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Anthropic. It calls Claude Opus 5.5 through Anthropic's API. Claude and Opus are trademarks of Anthropic; Claude Motion is named here only to describe and compare Anthropic's product.
Can I use Claude Motion without a Team plan?
Not Anthropic's version: it is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans, and Free, Pro and Max accounts don't have it. You can make Claude-written motion graphics without a Team plan on Opus 5.5 Video; it needs only an account here and credits.
Can I make Claude motion graphics without coding or installing anything?
Yes. Type a prompt in the generator at the top of this page. Claude Opus 5.5 writes the animation code in a cloud sandbox and the site renders the MP4, so there is nothing to install and no code to write.
Can Claude turn a text prompt into an animated MP4?
Yes, through code. Claude models output text, so a renderer has to turn the code Claude writes into video frames. Here that happens for you: your prompt becomes an HTML animation and then a 1080p MP4.
Can I turn a product URL into a promo video with Claude?
Yes. Put a public HTTPS link in the prompt and attach product images or screenshots. Claude reads the page for names, wording and public images and builds a stylized animation around them. It is not a screen recording of the site.
Is Claude Motion free?
Anthropic's Claude Motion comes with paid Team and Enterprise plans. On Opus 5.5 Video: The four example videos on the homepage play for free, with no account. Signup gift credits, admin-granted credits, purchased credits and subscription credits can fund your own videos. Starting a 15-second video requires at least 50 eligible credits; longer videos require a larger prepayment, as shown in the generator. Check-in and other reward credits cannot be used for videos. Eligible new accounts may receive 3 sign-up gift credits, subject to signup checks. These sign-up credits expire after 63 days. Videos made before your first purchase carry a small moving watermark.
How much does a Claude motion graphics video cost here?
A typical 15-second Opus 5.5 video uses about 40 credits: roughly $2.00 at the Starter plan's credit rate, or $3.04 at the Starter credit pack's rate. You pay for what Opus 5.5 actually uses. Initial prepayment is 50 credits for 15 seconds, 100 for 30 seconds and 200 for 60 seconds; voiceover can require a larger reserve. These are prepayments, not minimum prices. For a 15-second video, more is charged only as the work goes on, within an initial budget of 200 credits. At that limit the video pauses: choose to raise the budget or export the current version. Credits charged ahead and not used come back, and a failed video is refunded in full. Plans start at $9 a month for 180 credits. Credit packs start at $5 for 50 credits, with no subscription. A Trial pack does not guarantee a completed video; actual usage may require more credits.
Can I export without a watermark?
Yes, after your first purchase. Videos made before an account's first purchase carry a small moving watermark; videos made after it do not. Either way you download a standard MP4.
Can I export 1080p MP4 in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1?
On Opus 5.5 Video, yes: 1920×1080, 1080×1920 or 1080×1080 at 30 fps. Anthropic has not published the resolution or aspect ratios of Claude Motion's MP4 export.
How long can the videos be, and can they have music or a voiceover?
15, 30 or 60 seconds. Choose synthesized music, silence, your own MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG track, or AI voiceover where it is switched on. For multi-minute videos, use Claude Code with Remotion instead.
What is the difference between Claude Motion and Claude Code with Remotion?
Claude Motion runs inside Claude, and you change a video by chat or in its editor. Claude Code with Remotion is a developer setup: Claude edits a React video project on your machine and Remotion renders it, so you own the code but maintain the tools. Opus 5.5 Video sits between them: hosted like Claude Motion, but with no Team plan required.
Should I use Claude Motion, Remotion or After Effects?
Use Claude Motion if your team has it, Opus 5.5 Video for a quick MP4 without a Team plan, Remotion for code you own and long or automated videos, and After Effects when a motion designer needs frame-level control.
What prompt works best for Claude motion graphics?
Name the audience and where the video will play, write the exact on-screen words and numbers, give each scene a time range, and set a palette and pace. The prompts on this page follow that pattern.
Can it make realistic people or live-action video?
No. Like Claude Motion, it draws with code: text, charts, shapes, interfaces and the images you attach. For realistic footage, use a video model such as Veo, Kling or Runway.
